Creamy Beef Pasta Skillet Recipe
This Creamy Beef Pasta Skillet is so delicious and so comforting! Tender ground beef, onions, and tender pasta shells are coated in a cheesy creamy red sauce. This homemade hamburger helper is a family favorite that takes just 20 minutes and is great for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces of pasta
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- ½ sweet onion (chopped)
- 1 teaspoon jarred minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- ¼ cup beef broth
- 2 cups marinara sauce ((or Bolognese sauce))
- ½ teaspoon table salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- In a Dutch oven saucepan of boiling salted water, cook the pasta according to package instructions; drain well and return the noodles to the pot.
- At the same time, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add chopped onion and ground beef to the skillet, and cook, stirring frequently, until the onion is translucent about 5 minutes.
- Stir in garlic, beef broth, and Italian seasoning, and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in marinara sauce. Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 8 minutes.
- Add the cooked red sauce, salt, and pepper to the large pot of cooked pasta, stirring to combine.
- Stir in the shredded parmesan, heavy cream, and chopped parsley, and cook for about 2-3 minutes.
Notes
- You can use any type of pasta or elbow macaroni.
- Try using ground turkey or ground chicken.
- Store leftover pasta in an airtight container in the fridge for 4-5 days.
