Substitutions

Try using cream of chicken soup instead of cream of mushroom.

You can substitute leftover ham for the Spam.

If you don’t like onions and green peppers, you can use sliced mushrooms, chopped broccoli florets, or fresh baby spinach leaves.

How to make Spam Casserole

Step 1 - Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.

Step 2 - In a saucepan boil the noodles as directed on the package. Drain noodles.

Step 3 - At the same time, dice the onion, green bell pepper, and Spam on a cutting board.

Step 4 - Combine the soup, cheese, milk, onion, green pepper, and black pepper in a large bowl.

Step 5 - Stir in the cooked macaroni.

Step 6 - Pour the Spam mixture into the prepared casserole dish.

Step 7 - Bake for about 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups macaroni (elbows, or shells, or egg noodles - uncooked)
  • 1 onion
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 ounce Spam
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 8 ounces shredded Colby Jack cheese (or cheddar cheese)
  • ½ cup milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
  • In a saucepan cook macaroni as directed on the package. Drain the pasta.
  • At the same time, dice the onion, green bell pepper, and Spam on a cutting board.
  • Combine the soup, cheese, milk, onion, green pepper, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  • Stir in the cooked macaroni.
  • Pour the Spam mixture into the prepared casserole dish.
  • Bake for about 30 minutes.

Notes

  • You can sprinkle bread crumbs on top of the casserole before baking.
