This Parmesan Tilapia with Mayo is so easy and quick to prepare. It is a mild fish and the sauce on top is cheesy, golden brown and savory. This low-carb Parmesan Crusted Tilapia can be baked or broiled. Ready in just 15 minutes!
Place the tilapia fillets on a baking sheet lined with foil and sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
Broil for 5 – 10 minutes (depending on thickness) or until almost done.
In a small bowl combine the Parmesan cheese, butter, mayonnaise, chives, season salt, dried basil, and black pepper and mix it well.
Spread the cheese mixture on the fish fillets and broil another 3 - 5 minutes or until browned. Watch it closely so it doesn't burn. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
You can use fresh tilapia filets or frozen but you will need to thaw them in the refrigerator first.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.
You can also bake this dish. Bake the fish in an oven preheated to 425 degrees F for 10 - 20 minutes or until fish flakes easily. Spread the fish with the cheese mixture and bake or broil until golden brown, about 5 minutes. (I highly recommend broiling for the last 5 minutes for browning the cheese.) Baking time will depend on the thickness of the fish you use.
