Ingredients

Italian bread loaf
unsalted butter, room temperature
garlic salt
lean ground beef
onion
minced garlic
tomato paste
water
Worcestershire sauce
brown sugar
table salt
shredded Colby Jack cheese
Optional – parsley, chopped for garnish
Substitutions
Try using ground chicken, or ground turkey instead of ground beef.
You can also make this into Texas Toast Sloppy Joes using thick garlic toast slices instead of a long loaf of bread.
Try other types of cheese like creamy mozzarella cheese, cheddar, or Monterey Jack cheese.

How to make Ground Beef and Garlic Bread Recipe
Step 1 – Preheat oven to 350° F.
Step 2 – Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 3 – Slice the loaf of bread lengthwise into two halves. Place both halves of the bread onto the lined baking sheet, cut side up.
Step 4 – In a small bowl, combine the butter and garlic salt. Spread the delicious garlic butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread and set aside.
Step 5 – On a small cutting board, dice the onion.
Step 6 – In a large skillet over medium high heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain the grease and return the beef to the pan.
Step 7 – Add the diced onions until they start to soften.
Step 8 – Then add the minced garlic, tomato paste, water, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar and salt. Mix until combined well.
Step 9 – Spread a layer of sloppy joe mixture on both sides of the cut loaves and top with the Colby Jack cheese.
Step 10 – Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 11 – Cut the slices of cheesy garlic bread into pieces and serve with parsley for garnish.

- 8 Tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- ½ pound lean ground beef
- ¼ of an onion
- ½ teaspoon minced garlic
- 2 Tablespoons tomato paste
- ⅛ cup water
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon table salt
- 2 cups shredded Colby Jack cheese
- Optional – parsley, chopped for garnish
