box of spice cake mix
canned apple pie filling
unsalted butter
Optional – powdered sugar, or cinnamon for garnish
Substitutions
You can use a vanilla cake mix, or yellow cake mix instead of a spice cake mix.
You can also use other canned pie-filling flavors.

How to make 3 Ingredient Apple Dump Cake
Step 1 – Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and spray a 7×11 casserole dish with non-stick spray.
Step 2 – Spread the apple pie filling on the bottom of the 7 x 11 baking dish.
Step 3 – Evenly sprinkle the dry spice cake mix over the top of the apple pie filling.
Step 4 – Slice 1 ½ sticks of butter into 12 pieces (or more) and place them spread out in an even layer on top of the dry cake mix.
Step 5 – Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until the top of the cake is golden brown.
Step 6 – Cool on a wire rack, if desired, or serve warm sprinkled with a light dusting of powdered sugar, cinnamon, or ice cream.
Pro Tips
Store leftovers in an airtight container. This dump cake needs to be refrigerated once it has been baked and cooled. The fruit in the cake will spoil fast if left on the counter at room temperature. You can refrigerate it for up to 5 days.
