How to make Oven-baked Pork Chops
Step 1 – Preheat oven to 425° F.
Step 2 – Spray a 9×13 baking dish (or rimmed sheet pan) with non-stick cooking spray.
Step 3 – Pat dry pork chops with a paper towel.
Step 4 – Season both sides of the chops with the onion powder, and dried thyme, plus salt and pepper to taste.
Step 5 – Transfer the pork to the prepared dish and top each with a 1/2 tablespoon pat of butter.
Step 6 – Bake pork chops in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes for 1-inch thick bone-in pork chops. The pork chops are done when the internal temperature of the pork chops measures 145° F on an instant-read thermometer. (Thinner pork chops and boneless pork will cook faster.) Be careful not to overcook the pork chops or they may dry out.
Step 7 – Let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes and then serve.
Pro Tips
If the pork chops are thinner than 1 inch, start checking on them after 10 minutes in the oven.
Store leftover pork chops in an airtight container for up to 4-5 days in the fridge.
